Five more people tested positive for coronavirus in Fayette County. Fayette County Office of Emergency Management reported two new cases on Tuesday, May 5, and the three others the following day, May 6. All patients live in Pct. 3, the Flatonia area.

Salons & Barbershops Can Open Friday

Tuesday Texas Governor Greg Abbott outlined more aspects of reopening the state amidst pandemic precautions. He said barbershops and hair, nail and tanning salons can reopen Friday May 8, but employees will only be able to work with one customer at a time.

Round Top Square Packed on a Sunny Sunday

Both sides of the Round Top Square were full Sunday afternoon, with many of the folks enjoying Royers fried chicken to go. It appears the greater Round Top area is really back in business. Honoring Schulenburg Graduates

Masses in Austin Diocese to Resume May 5

Following Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent executive order on the phased reopening of the state of Texas, the Diocese of Austin, under the leadership of Bishop Joe S. Vásquez, notified parishes today they may resume the public celebration of Mass on May 5. As they open, Bishop Vásquez has asked parishes to follow protocols that are consistent with the governor’s and attorney general’s recommendations.
