Road Work to Impact Hwy. 77 Wednesday

The Texas Department of Transportation is planning to perform road pavement coring operations on Jan. 10 in La Grange.

The limits of the project are from Roitsch Lane to the Colorado River Bridge on Highway 77 as noted on the map. The official lane closure will start at 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 10 and will last for one day. Traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by a pilot car through the work area for the protection of employees and the traveling public. The limits of these lane closures will move throughout the day as coring operations progress through the mentioned limits.

This is planned for one day and these cores will be used as a planning tool for an upcoming project scheduled for Construction Summer 2025.

Expect Delays during these coring operations and if possible, please use alternate routes Date of project is subject to permissible weather and may require adjustment.

Motorists should expect possible traffic delays, are urged to use caution when driving through the work zone, and should keep the following tips in mind:

• Slow down and always follow posted work zone speed limits. Speeding is one of the major causes of work zone crashes. Remember, traffic fines double in work zones.

• Pay attention. Workers and heavy equipment may only be a few feet from passing vehicles.

• Be patient. Delays from roadway construction can be frustrating, but it only takes a few extra minutes to slow down for a work zone.
