Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 19-25.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 20, Animal control Officer Gina Harden took a report from complainant regarding a dog roaming around his property.
On Nov. 22, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 800 block of Lyons regarding a loose dog.
On Nov. 24, Officer Hailee Vincent was advised by complainant that someone shot a deer behind Wright’s Park and was cleaning it at the house by the Expo Center. Officer checked the area but did not find anyone cleaning a deer.
Burglary
On Nov. 20, Whited was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Upton regarding a burglary in progress. Officers arrived and found it was sprinklers hitting the home and all was secure and no sign of forced entry.
Dog Bite
On Nov. 25, Vincent took a call from the Lavaca medical center for an individual that was in the emergency room for a dog bite, Individual had been bit by her own dog.
Disorderly Conduct
On Nov. 19, Whited responded to the 500 block of Wolf Street regarding loud music. Upon arrival found multiple people drinking and advised them to turn down the music.
Harassment
On Nov. 20, Officer MD Krenek responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a customer coming to the store and cussing at him after her son was fired. The individual followed the complainant all the way to the police department.
On Nov. 25, Vincent responded to the 900 block of Eilers where complainant advised of getting message from fake accounts asking her to send money. Officer advised her to block the number.
Possession
On Nov. 22, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (1023) Driver was arrested for possession.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle On Nov. 22, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 600 block of South Street for a suspicious person wearing black walking in circles in the middle of the road. Officer unable to locate.
On Nov. 24, Vincent was dispatched to the 200 block of College for a parked car that has been there for a few days.
Traffic Stop
On Nov. 23, Whited stopped a driver in the 400 block of N. Kessler for a defective headlamp.
Welfare Check
On Nov. 24, Vincent responded to the 600 block of Wolters for a welfare check.
On Nov. 24, Vincent responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an unsafe driver that just pulled into Pilot and was getting gas. Officer contacted the driver and asked about his unsafe driving, he advised he was probably on his phone. Officer informed him of his precious cargo (three children) in the vehicle and he needed to be smarter, officer asked if he had been drinking and he allowed officer to look in vehicle. All was good. Driver advised he was on the way to the deer lease.
