Carmen Stout Bigham, born Aug. 14, 1943, passed away in Columbus on Sept. 24, 2026. She was born to Maxine Cordell and Charles Stout, and grew up in Houston, where she graduated from C.E. King High School before attending Sam Houston State University.

James Robert “Jimmy” Ewing, Sr., 87, of Round Top, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Jack William Ingram Junior, known to family and friends as Bill, passed away on Sept. 10, 2026, in La Grange, the same town where he was born on March 26, 1951.

Ronald Roy Klump passed away on Sept. 13, 2026 in Brenham. Ronald was born on Dec. 26, 1943 to Roy and Edith (Weigelt) Klump. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. He attended Round Top-Carmine School. On Nov. 6, 1965 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Nitsche) Klump.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Dean “Mike” Dehmer of Smithville. He was called home to Our Heavenly Father on Aug. 26, 2026, at the age of 80 in Austin, two days before his 81st birthday.

Funeral Services for Mable Louise Barfield will be held this Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 at 10 a.m. The viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 St. James Church Road, West Point.

Roger Jay Wayman went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Jay was proceeded in death by his parents Jesse and Mildred Wayman, his wife of 68 years, Pauline Wayman and 10 of his 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by brother Sam Wayman and wife Donna of La Grange, his daughter Juanita Hoffman and husband Frank of La Grange, daughter Anita Giese and husband Gary of San Antonio, four grandchildren, Heather and husband Kevin, Josh and wife Jennifer, Michele and husband Bryan and Michael; seven great grandchildren, Wesley, Benjamin, Zachary, Haley, Quinn, Asher, and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob Laffey of La Grange passed away on Sept. 8, 2026. Bob was born in Chicago, Ill. on Nov. 18, 1939 to Alfred and Ruth Laffey. He spent his formative years in Evanston, Ill. Upon graduation from high school in 1957, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent three years in strategic missile systems. Following his time in the USAF, Bob worked for Boeing in Seattle, WA, until he found his calling with IBM. While in Seattle he met and married Glenna Irene Moore, Aug. 11, 1963 who would be by his side for the rest of his life.

Elizabeth Mary Muske, known lovingly to family and friends as Elsie, passed away on Sept. 8, 2026, in La Grange at the age of 95. She was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Joe and Sophie Kaspar. She married Burney Muske on April 13, 1953, in Fayetteville.

Funeral services for Jacqueline Marie Albers, 91, of Ledbetter, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, with Pastor Doug Tipps officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, from 9 a.m. 8 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, from 7-10 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home. The family will be present for visitation on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.
