National Party of Texas Kicks Off in Schulenburg Aug. 5-8
The National Party of Texas comes back to Wolters Park in Schulenburg after taking a break last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This year’s Schulenburg Festival takes place Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 5-8.
Entertainment starts Thursday night with a performance by Fayette County band Southbound 955. Friday night’s music lineup starts at 6:30 p.m. with Pauline Reese. Legendary country band Little Texas take the stage at 8:30 p.m. Kolby Cooper headlines the night with a performance from 10:30 p.m. to midnight.
The music on Saturday begins at 12:30 p.m. with the Texas Sundown Band, followed by Tracy and Resendis at 4 p.m. Texas Unlimited Band (TUB) performs their first set from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Headline performer Shane Smith and the Saints play from 9:30 to 11 p.m. TUB closes out the night with their second set from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
On Sunday, local favorites The Telstars will perform from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., followed by another performance by TUB from 4 to 8 p.m.
The Festival features two nights of rodeo action on Friday and Saturday. Other activities include barbecue and chili cookoffs, a fun run, tricycle races, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, softball tournament, golf tournament, and more.
