Relay For Life & Fundraiser Details in LG Are Finalized

The 2021 Relay For Life of La Grange will be held at Leopard Stadium on Saturday, September 25, beginning at 6 p.m.

The Survivor/Caregiver Lap will follow the Opening Ceremony, after which many laps will be walked by the members of the 8 teams who have been raising money to help the American Cancer Society in its fight against this disease. All walking will cease for a short period at dusk for the Luminaria Ceremony, when hundreds of candles will be lit in memory of cancer victims or in honor of cancer survivors. Luminaria can be purchased for $5 each from any Relay For Life team member or on the website www.relayforlife.org/lagrangetx.

Relay For Life of La Grange is holding two fundraisers prior to the Relay. An on-line auction will be held from 8 a.m. on August 4 until 7 p.m. on August 6.

Everyone is invited to view the auction items and place bids at https://fundraiser.support/RFLofLG. In addition to the on-line auction, there will be a drive through pork steak dinner on Thursday, August 26, at the Randolph Recreation Center. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased from any Relay For Life team member or from Glenda Munsch at City Hall.

In lieu of the traditional survivor dinner honoring local cancer survivors and their caregivers, those survivors who have registered in the past have been sent tickets for this dinner. We would like to invite any cancer survivors who may not have been contacted to register to attend the meal and the Relay event by going online at www.relayforlife.org/lagrangetx or by contacting Glenda Munsch at 979-249-6884.
