St. John AltarSociety Fundraiser
St. John Altar Society of Fayetteville is planning their annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 with a bake sale, country store, hot dogs and a raffle featuring a hand quilted quilt. Tickets can be purchased at Fayetteville Bank.
Memorial Service
The Decoration and Memorial Service for the Waldeck Cemetery will be held on Sunday, April 28 at the Waldeck Cemetery beginning at 2:30 p.m. A business meeting will follow the service, and light refreshments will be served.

Booster Club
The La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, May 1 in the La Grange High School Library beginning at 5:30 p.m.
There’s more Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m. The lodge will donate to AMEN Food Pantry for the Join Hands Day project. Bring your non perishable food items to the meeting on May 1. A group of donors has offered a challenge matching gift to support our hunger relief efforts, so bring your receipt along with your donation. This will double the giving for the lodge. Members are also asked to bring a potluck dish.
Clue On Stage at Amphitheatre
Fayette County Community Theatre is performing Clue On Stage at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater on the grounds of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, Friday and Saturday May 3 and May 4 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at faycotheatre.com or at the FCCT Box Office and Studio at 120 S. Business Meeting and Decoration Day
The Old High Hill Cemetery Association, Inc. annual business meeting will be held on Sunday, May 5 at St. Paul’s Hall, 712 Summit St. in Schulenburg, at 2 p.m. All members, family, and descendants of those buried in the cemetery are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting. Decoration Day at Old High Hill Cemetery will be held on the same day, May 5. The Old High Hill Cemetery is located about three miles northwest of Schulenburg on FM 2672. The Old High Hill Cemetery Association, Inc. is recognized as a non-profit, tax exempt organization under IRS Code Section 501(c)(13), which makes contributions tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Funds are needed to maintain this historic perpetual care cemetery.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church Fundraiser The annual Bethlehem Lutheran Church fundraiser will be held Sunday, May 5 at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall. Praise Worship is at 10 a.m. under the pavilion. Meal consists of four pieces of fried chicken, green beans, buttered noodles, and pickle spear. The meal will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dine in, to go or drive-thru available. Tickets are $15 per plate. Advance purchase is encouraged with tickets available at the church office by calling (979) 249-3686 or Round Top Mercantile, Round Top State Bank, or a church member.
La Grange Sports Banquet
The La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold its annual Sports Banquet Monday, May 6. This event is for Varsity players and their families. Tickets are available at the LGISD Administration office to purchase. Social will begin at 6 p.m.
Small Business Month Conference Small Business Month, celebrated in May every year, is a special tribute to celebrate small businesses, their courage, community efforts, and hard work for an entire month. Barbecue Chickens on Mothers Day The Holy Cross Couples Club will have their annual barbecue chickens on Mothers Day, May 12. Pick-up at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Chickens are $12 and cups of sauce are $3. Bockhorn-Rodenbeck Family Reunion The 85th Bockhorn-Rodenbeck family reunion will be held on Sunday, July 2 at the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department Hall, 5295 Main Street, Chappell Hill. Members should look for an upcoming email from bockhornrodenbeckfamily@gmail.com to include information on reservations, meal prices and activities planned for the day. Future emails from this account will provide additional information prior to the reunion. Reservations are due no later than July 12.
Beekeepers Association Meeting
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will meet on the first Saturday of every month at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 Honey Bee Biology presentation from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, please bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, an open discussion on bee-things, and a guest presentation it is also a great opportunity to meet up with experienced beekeepers who can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend meetings, FaycoBeeks welcomes all attendees and encourages beekeepers and their families to join.
