St. Mark’s Hospital to Shut Its Doors

A local group’s effort to take over management of St. Mark’s Medical Center fell apart after a vote by the La Grange City Council Monday night, Oct. 2. St. Mark’s announced on Wednesday that the hospital would close effective Oct. 12.

Schulenburg Grabs Big Win on Homecoming

The Schulenburg Shorthorns defeated a very athletic football team from Hearne 10-0 on Homecoming Friday night, bringing the Horns’ record to 2-0 in district and 3-3 overall. “(Hearne) hasn’t given up many points all year, and I know why now,” said Schulenburg Head Coach Luke Hobbs after the game.
