CDA, BBRC Donate So Giddings State School Football Players Can Eat Meals At Away Games
At their Aug. 26, semiannual meeting, the Bluebonnet Regents Council (BBRC), National Society Daughters of the American Revolution approved the request by member, Sherry Hebert, to cover the cost of the meals for 15 athletes at the Giddings State School as they travel to football games. The BBRC made a gracious donation of $300 to the Giddings State School of the Texas Juvenile Justice System. These donations were in honor of Constitution Week and Veteran’s Day by the seven area chapters that make up the Bluebonnet Regents Council.
At the Aug. 28, meeting at Sacred Heart Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1962 also approved a generous donation at the request of Vice-Regent, Sherry Hebert for meals for the athletes’ travel to football games in the amount of $150. These student athletes maintain good grades and standing and represent the Lone Star Football Team of Giddings State School well.
Donations are welcome and greatly appreciated for the needs of this athletic program. Area church and civic organizations are encouraged to take this opportunity to positively impact the lives of these adolescent athletes who are achieving and working to be productive members of society. There are 15 football team members and meals cost $10 per person, and any donation is worthy and appreciated.
Donations can be mailed to: Giddings State School c/o Janet Sheelar 1027 PVT Road 2261 Giddings, Texas 78942.
