Peaceful Protest in Schulenburg

A group of people from Schulenburg, Weimar, Gonzales and the surrounding area held a Black Lives Matter demonstration on the steps of Schulenburg City Hall Wednesday evening, June 3. Memorial Day - Social Distancing Style

LCRA, CITY OF LG AWARD $10,000 TO CZECH CENTER

From the regularly changed marquee at the Lyric Theater in downtown Flatonia (lower left) highlighting different seniors, to the big banner placed on the courthouse lawn Friday in La Grange showing all the Leopard seniors, people in the Fayette County have done their best to show this year’s seniors that even if they can’t be congratulated in person (because of the coronavirus precautions) they are not forgotten.
Schulenburg Native Donates 50,000 Face Masks to Fayette Co.

Schulenburg native and international businessman Carman Kobza donated nearly 50,000 face masks to first responders, nursing homes and other agencies that need them throughout Fayette County and the surrounding area last week.

The Texas Heroes Museum will be closed for the weekend following Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 26. Please give special thanks to our active duty personnel who are not able to share Thanksgiving dinner with their loved ones. The museum will resume normal hours on Friday, Dec. 1.

Update on Hospital Reopening Effort

Mississippi-based Progressive Health Group (PHG) has contacted state and federal authorities to ascertain what it will take to reinstate licenses required to reopen the La Grange hospital, St. Marks’ Medical Center, which closed Oct. 12 because of financial struggles.
