Frisch Auf! Hit by Crime Spree, Cars Stolen
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the La Grange Police Department are investigating a crime spree that took place between midnight and 3 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2.
The Sheriff’s Office said residents in the area of Frisch Auf! Country Club reported three stolen vehicles and one vehicle burglary on Monday morning. Investigator Kenn Kretz of the Sheriff’s Office said one of the vehicles, a Ford Fusion, apparently ran out of gas shortly after it was stolen. Investigators found abandoned in the neighborhood on Valley View Dr. He said another vehicle, a Ford F-150, was recovered Tuesday by San Antonio Police at an RV Park north of Lackland Air Force Base. The third vehicle stolen from the Frisch Auf area, a Ford Expedition, remained missing but Kretz said he believed investigators were close to finding it.
Another resident in the Frisch Auf! area reported a gun stolen from a vehicle Monday morning, Kretz said.
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said a silver 2018 Ford F-150 was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of S. Main Street around the same time early Monday morning. Gilbreath said the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. It was later recovered in Galveston.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with any camera footage of the area to check for any suspicious activity, likely between midnight to 3 a.m. Anyone with information can contact Investigator Kenn Kretz at (979) 9685856 “As a reminder, we strongly encourage the community to keep your vehicles secured when parked, even at your residence,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Monday. “Also remove your keys and key fobs from the vehicle when parked as failing to do so makes the vehicles exceptionally easy to steal.”
