Dan Leer and David Dobbs help La Grange High School principal John Pineda hang up this massive banner on the courthouse lawn Friday morning, showcasing all of the La Grange High School seniors. “This was a collaborative effort by many staff members,” Pineda said. “A special thanks goes out to Lucy Carr, Tara Bennett and the La Grange High School Counselors and Administrators for heading up this project. We want to thank Judge Weber for allowing us to display the banner on the courthouse lawn. I also want to thank the entire La Grange High School Staff for supporting the Senior Class of 2020. We know that this has been a diffi cult spring semester for these students. They are missing out on a long list of milestones and experiences that go along with the end of their school career. What the senior Class of 2020 has lacked in actual school events this spring, they’ve made up for in socially distant attention. From the regularly changed marquee at the Lyric Theater in downtown Flatonia (lower left) highlighting different seniors, to the big banner placed on the courthouse lawn Friday in La Grange showing all the Leopard seniors, people in the Fayette County have done their best to show this year’s seniors that even if they can’t be congratulated in person (because of the coronavirus precautions) they are not forgotten.
