ATM Burglary Fails Sunday Morning in Schulenburg
Schulenburg Police are looking for three men who unsuccessfully tried breaking into the Prosperity Bank ATM early Sunday morning, June 14.
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reported that the attempted burglary happened around 4:27 a.m.
Schulenburg Police posted a surveillance video of the attempt to their Facebook page. The video shows the suspects driving an older single cab silver or gray Dodge pickup truck. The suspects appeared to be three black males. One of the men was thinner than the other two. The two larger men wore masks and hoods. The thinner suspect was not wearing a mask and he appeared to have some gold teeth.
Police provided the following descriptions of each suspect:
Suspect 1 was a black male with a blue Nike hooded sweatshirt with black mask; he hopped out of the truck bed.
Suspect 2 was a black male with a black hooded sweatshirt with blue/white full head mask; police believe he may have been the driver.
Suspect 3 was the thinner black male with black hooded sweatshirt, no mask and white gloves with possible gold teeth; he appeared to have gotten out of the passenger seat.
They were not able to get any money out of the ATM, but they did damage it in the process.
“We are hoping someone will recognize one of these men,” Brenek said. “Please share this video so we can spread it across social media.
