Bluebonnet Master Gardeners Hold Graduation

The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association held the Graduation ceremony on April 25, at the Fayette County Agricultural Building in La Grange. Twenty-two individuals completed the course.

1973: Gypsies Suspected in a Robbery of a Local Woman

May 1, 1973 An elderly Engle lady was the victim of a theft of about $70 Saturday afternoon, but the sheriff’s office reported no arrests had yet been made. Two women and a man reportedly drove up to the victim’s house in a red car.

Faison House Fried Chicken Drive-Thru Fundraiser May 16

The Smith McMillan Chapter of the Texas Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is sponsoring a fundraiser for the Faison House in La Grange on Tuesday, May 16, from 4:30 to 6:15 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church parking lot (across from H-E-B in La Grange). The drive-thru features a chicken dinner with red potatoes, green beans, grilled, squash, roll, and cobbler for only $12.

St. Mark’s No Longer Uses Machine Bought With County Grant Funding

St. Mark’s Medical Center no longer uses the $135,000 C-Arm imaging device it purchased just over a year ago with American Rescue Plan (ARP) grant funds, according to the hospital’s CEO Mark Kimball.

Residents Appeal to County for Help With Noise Clash

Residents of the Colony Oaks Subdivision near Fayetteville petitioned the Fayette County Commissioners Court for help resolving a noise dispute with Magnolia Oil and Gas. Several residents from the subdivision spoke at the Commissioners Court meeting last Thursday, April 27.
