Good Ole Country Weddings

My favorite times and favorite memories are the annual church picnics we attended during the year. As youngsters, we didn’t get a chance to go anywhere except to church on Sundays, sometimes to town with Mom, and to these long-awaited picnics. Another occasion was a good old country wedding.

The Fayetteville baseball team now has a 8-6 overall record and a 7-4 mark in district after beating Round Top-Carmine 11-0 Wednesday. Fayetteville’s Travis Gully, Easton Jaeger and Reid Gross each had two hits in that game.

The Flatonia baseball team improved to 16-3 overall and 8-1 in district with Tuesday’s 6-5 win over Weimar. The Bulldogs also pounded Moulton last Friday 23-1 with Luke Law getting four hits.

La Grange track runner Clayton Knapik has been a vital part of the Leopards team as he was part of three relay teams that qualified for this Friday’s home area meet. The senior was also an all-district starter for the football and basketball teams, as well as a regional qualifier in swimming.

The Flatonia Lady Dog softball team split their four district games that they played last week. The ladies defeated Moulton 20-1 and 17-1 in a double header that they played last Friday.

The Schulenburg baseball team hosted First Responders and Veterans Night at the Ballpark on Friday April 14. Shown above are the Shorthorns posing with the honorees before the game.
