La Grange Police Department Shows Off New Shields, Vests

La Grange Police Department received a grant from the Texas Governor’s Office to purchase new ballistic shields and vests for each officer in the department. Police Chief David Gilbreath and Officer David Mohr showed off the new equipment at the La Grange City Council meeting Monday night, March 27.

Faith Lutheran Music Students Honored

These three students at Faith Lutheran High School competed at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Music Competition, hosted by Concordia University in Austin on Friday, March 24. Each chose a piece from the UIL Prescribed Music List and performed it before a professional judge who critiqued their tone, style, presentation, mechanics and interpretation of the piece.

Rep. Stan Kitzman Authors Firearm Constitutional Bill

District 85 State Representative Stan Kitzman announced today that he has authored HB 3750, a bill that would exempt firearms and ammunition as well as components of a firearm from sales tax. Representative Kitzman said he believes that it is a violation of the Second Amendment to tax something integral to exercising one’s rights.
