The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present a production of “Drinking Habits” by Tom Smith on May 5, 6 and 7. Directed by Brent and Tara Lowe, the comedy features many new and returning community cast and crew members.

Set at a convent, home of the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing, two sisters, played by Staci Ulrich and Heather Barthelme, are secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open. Two investigative reporters, presented by Guy Hardin and Bryssa Rios, go undercover as a nun and a priest. The pair hopes to uncover who is behind the award-winning wine. The Mother Superior and a parish priest, played by Ann Raborn and Brandon Theut, believe spies sent by Rome live amongst them and plan to shut the convent down. Add another new priest that looks suspiciously like the groundskeeper, Sunny Benbow, and a new nun, Tiffany Denham, this comedy creates a who’s who scenario certain to bring the audience to laughter.

“Besides the cast making us laugh, our crew creates the perfect setting for comedic chaos,” said co-director Tara Lowe. Co-Director Brent Lowe agreed, saying, “All the actors surprise me every rehearsal by delivering each laugh-out-loud line. Even the crew joins in on the laughs.”

“Drinking Habits” will be performed at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater located at 250 West Fair Grounds Road in La Grange, Texas. Ticket prices are $15 for adult general admission, $10 for student general admission, and $40 for a VIP ticket. Tickets are available for purchase from FCCT’s Box Office located at 120 South Washington Street in La Grange or online at www. fayettecountycommunitytheatre. com. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, and 3 p.m. for the Sunday, May 7, matinee.
