Washington County deputy sheriffs were guarding Burton State Bank while clues were being sought following a Friday morning burglary. April Sales Tax Soars For City of La Grange

New La Grange City Manager Fred Bell got an unexpected boost for his first month on the job from State Comptroller Glenn Hegar. When the top Texas money man sent April sales tax rebates to cities, La Grange got $283,400 – more than half again its usual amount.

The City of La Grange will have roll off containers available to residential utility customers for hard to dispose of items. These containers will be located at the City Service Center inside the yard and customers will have to show their utility bill receipt to be able to discard their items.
