Henneke Crowned 2023 Fayette Co. Fair Queen

The City of La Grange will be working on a new water line on Von Minden Rd. Von Minden Rd. will be closed from The Remnant Church parking lot to the back entrance of St. Mark’s Medical Center. This will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Please obey all road closure and detour signs for your protection as well as the workers.

1983 State Runner-Ups Reunite

The members of the La Grange baseball state runner-up team from 1983 held a reunion earlier this summer to share memories of their magical season. The Leps carried a 25-5 record into the state tournament and beat Gladewater in the state semis, as Jody Supak and Daniel Tamez combined on the pitching effort and Brent Vasut, Supak and Darrell Moerbe each had two hits.

Shelter Has Over 100 Animals in Their Care

As of Aug. 19, a total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 1157: 555 dogs and 662 cats in need. As of Aug. 19, the shelter has 118 animals in care: 50 dogs/68 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.
