Krause Wins Scholarship

The Round Top Area Historical Society is pleased to present their 2020 scholarship winner Megan Krause, daughter of Suzanne and Calvin Krause. Megan’s family has lived and worked the land in the Round Top area since the 1900s and the contribution this family has made to the area is immense. Zbranek Graduates From Stephen F. Austin

Lauren Ashley Zbranek graduated from Stephen F. Austin on May 9 with a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies, early childhood through 6th grade. She will be employed as a second grade English Language Arts And Reading teacher at Thomas J. Rusk Elementary School in Nacogdoches. Lauren is the daughter of David (Zeebo) and Shelly Zbranek of La Grange.

Recreation Center Gets Donated Computers

DPS Trains for Water Rescue on the Colorado

Texas Department of Public Safety conducted some water rescue training on the Colorado River near Winchester on Wednesday, June 17. That’s a Hefty Tomato

Robert Svrcek stopped by the Record office last Monday morning to show off an example of the one-pound tomatoes he’s growing on property near the airport. Svrcek said the tomato variety is called “Big Boy,” and it appears to live up to its name. Svrcek said he sold 45 lbs. of these tomatoes at the La Grange Farmer’s Market last Saturday. New Little Free Library Location
