Ron and Pam Knotts Deliver Handmade Dresser to Granddaughter in Arkansas
Ron and Pam Knotts recently traveled to Conway, Ark. to deliver a custom-made dresser Ron had built for their granddaughter, Keylee Simpson. Ron not only made the dresser, but designed it for Keylee during the COVID-19 quarantine time. Keylee was very excited to receive her graduation present. It was a long-awaited visit, and the Knotts were able to spend a few days shopping with Keylee and her friends. They also got to try out some new restaurants. They attended church and spent some time gathering items for Keylee’s new living space and repairing other pieces of furniture. Ron and Pam hope to be able to attend the postponed graduation ceremony later this summer.
Out and About
Lane Rightmer came home for a few days to enjoy the country life and spend a little time with her dad, Clay Rightmer, for Father’s Day.
Devon Boehnke and Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed having Devon’s granddaughters, Joy and Erica Field of Magnolia, come for a visit and bring their friend, Samantha. They had lots of fun and enjoyed some great fishing in the middle of the country.
On Sunday, Dana and Darrell Kulak went to Houston to celebrate their son, Elton Kulak’s, birthday with him.
Rain
Over the past week there was just a trace of rain that fell. Around .04 inches of rain was recorded. It was not much, but it did settle the dust for a short time. A slim chance of rain is in the forecast at the time of this writing, and would be much welcomed as the ground is drying out fast.
Hogs
Hogs have continued to be a nuisance in the area. Local Chris Joplin has been taking a bit out of the population. His traps are regularly catching six to eight hogs every day. Having multiple traps out is helping, but the hogs just keep multiplying and tearing up the fields. Be sure to watch the ditches while driving in the area. Hogs are continually hit and are causing lots of damage to vehicles.
Fourth of July
It looks like the Fourth of July celebration in Muldoon is not going to happen this year. With so many who come out and celebrate in Muldoon being in the high-risk group, the celebration has been called off until next year.
Many gatherings have been canceled due to COVID-19, and the Muldoon gathering is among those. For those who cannot get out, take time to display your flag on the Fourth of July and take pride in the fact we live in a free nation. It is a great way to celebrate without getting out.
Start making plans for next year. This should give everyone lots of time to plan out an extra special float, costume or maybe practice a great dish for the potluck lunch.
