As of Dec. 1, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 1508: 696 dogs and 812 cats in need. As of Dec. 1, the shelter has 82 animals in care: 37 dogs/45 cats.

Hurricane Harvey Recovery Team’s Final Funds Go to AMEN Food Pantry

When relief donations first started arriving in La Grange after Hurricane Harvey in 2017, they went to churches and to the La Grange Ministerial Association. The ministers decided to create a separate non-profit organization to tackle recovery and the Fayette County Disaster Recovery Team was born.

LCRA Donates $25,000 for Playground Shade Structure in LG

The La Grange Lions Foundation will install a shade structure at the playground at Kruschel Memorial Park, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of La Grange. The Community Development Partnership Program grant, along with $8,250 in matching funds from the foundation, will add a second protective covering at the park on the west side of La Grange.
