Contested Race for Pct. 4 Constable

There will be a contested race for Pct. 4 Constable in the March 5 Republican Primary Election.

Incumbent Jason Strickland will face challenger Tammy Jo “TJ Mac” McCleney. Strickland has held the office since 2001. McCleney, who lives in the High Hill area, currently serves as a police officer in Moulton.

Other county offices up for election this year are County Attorney, Sheriff, County Tax Assessor/Collector, Commissioner Precinct 1, Commissioner Precinct 3, Constable Precinct 1, Constable Precinct 2 and Constable Precinct 3.

The following incumbents have filed to run in the Republican Primary and they are currently unopposed:

• Sheriff Keith Korenek,

• Pct. 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom,

• Pct. 3 Commissioner Harvey Berckenhoff,

• Pct. 1 Constable Wm Billy Roensch, and

• Pct. 2 Constable Roger Wunderlich.

So far, no one has filed to run for any county office as a Democrat.

The deadline to file for a place on the Primary ballot is Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
