Kyle Hartmann Installed As New Rotary President

La Grange Rotarians last week installed Kyle Hartmann as club president for 2023-24. Mike Coppinger has been president this past year, during which the club has contributed more than $35,000 to various charitable efforts, including $12,000 in scholarships to La Grange High School graduates.

Home Struck By Gunfire in Flatonia July 3

In the early morning of July 3, 2023, officers were responded to a report of “shots fired.” Upon arriving on location, officers found a resident to have been struck several times by gun fire. This incident is an ongoing investigation and, at this time, it is believed that this is an isolated incident and the general public is not in danger.

New Roles at City of La Grange

Hannah Garlick has left her job as the City of La Grange Director of Community Development and Tourism for a role at Fayette Savings Bank. LG Garbage Rates Could Be Going Up

Waste Management wants to raise garbage rates for La Grange residents by 10 percent. The company’s contract with the City, which expires in 2026, allows Waste Management to raise rates by no more than five percent annually.
