Case Gets A Second Look, Three Months After Man’s Death
The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office told the Record this week that they are investigating the death of Stuart Krischke, the 63-year-old St. John man who died more than three months ago.
“It’s under investigation at this time,” said Chief Deputy J.R. Peters of the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office.
“We’re looking into a few things, that’s all. Until we get some results back on some things we’re looking into, I can’t really speculate on anything.”
Krischke died on March 21, reportedly after a wood stove fell on him at his property in St. John.
St. John is a small community located on the Fayette- Lavaca County Line about six miles southwest of Schulenburg. The Krischke property is located inside Lavaca County.
Peters would not say what prompted the investigation.
“We’re just taking another look at it,” he said.
