Shelter Has 27 Adoptions Last Week

As of Sept. 15, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 1,251: 596 dogs and 655 cats in need. As of Sept. 15, the shelter has 141 animals in care: 62 dogs/79 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Road Closure In Muldoon

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began work to replace a bridge on Parkerville Rd. between Cherry Rd. and FM 2237 in the Muldoon area Tuesday, Sept. 19. The work is expected to completed by Jan. 15, 2024. TxDOT will have detour and road closed signs to remind residents and visitors.

Caboose Gets New Lease on Life

Solid cypress boards and fresh yellow paint are giving a bright new face to a caboose at the La Grange MKT Depot Museum. “Thanks to a grant from Second Chance Emporium, we will be able to tell this caboose’s story for years to come,” said Gale Lincke, a longtime director of the nonprofit museum.
