Schulenburg, Fayetteville And RT-C Cubettes Win

Caldwell in 5 Sets

The La Grange varsity volleyball team suffered a tough five-set loss to Caldwell Tuesday. After winning the first and third sets, the Lady Leps lost the final two sets. Final scores were 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-17.

The loss drops the Lady Leps to 13-20 overall and 1-2 in district.

Carley Ulrich led La Grange in kills with 24 and Kylie Trlicek had 13.

Trlicek led in digs with 25 and Haylie Cooper had 23.

Jena Jobb had a team-high four aces and Ulrich had two.

Trlicek also led in assists with 21, Landri Hernandez had 20 and Jobb had 10.

Cara Homer had six blocks and Trlicek had three.

The La Grange JV defeated Caldwell 25-12, 25-19 to improve to 12-8 overall and 1-1 in district.

The La Grange freshmen defeated Caldwell 25-18, 2515 to improve to 10-11 overall and 2-1 in district.

The JV and Varsity will host Austin Achieve on Friday. The varsity game begins at 5 p.m.

Flatonia Falls to Weimar

The Flatonia volleyball team lost to Weimar in the district opener for both teams 25-23, 11-25, 14-25, 13-25 Tuesday.

Here are the Flatonia stat leaders: Aces: Emma Kosler and Katie Templeton had 1 each.

Assists: Summer Sodek with 16, Katelin Sullivan with 4 and Elzah Herrera with 2.

Blocks: Kalen Scott with 3 and Emma Kosler with 3.

Digs: Summer Sodek with 8, Emma Kolser with 7, and Aubree Mikulenka with 4.

Kills: Katelin Sullivan with 10, Summer Sodek with 6 and Emma Klozik with 6.

Fayetteville

Defeats Aggieland

The Fayetteville volleyball team defeated Texas Aggieland Tuesday 25-13, 25-11, 25-11.

Kayme Schley led the team in kills with 11, Peyton Jurecka had seven and Lainey Gromaski had six.

Marissa Rohde had six aces. Emily Keilers had three aces and so did Schley.

Schley had seven digs and Rohde had five. Rohde led in assists with 19 and Keilers had four.

Schulenburg

Drops Ganado

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Ganado 25-9, 25-8, 25-15 in the district opener for both teams. The Lady Horns improved to 21-12 overall and 1-0 in district with the win.

RT-C Sweeps

Normangee

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team defeated Normangee Tuesday 25-19, 25-21, 25-16. The Cubettes are now 24-7 overall. They will start district play at home against Fayetteville on Friday. The JV will start at 4 p.m. followed by Varsity. Stat leaders from Tuesday’s match include: Mallory Krause 15 kills, 1 solo block, 8 digs, 11 assists, 2 aces; Tess Eilers 5 kills, 12 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace; Kennedy Flinn 2 kills, 1 assist block; Kaysie Ward 5 kills, 1 assist block, 1 dig; Jessica Rohde 4 kills, 2 assist blocks, 4 digs; Makayla Smith 1 kill, 1 dig; Jill Eilers 6 kills, 2 assist blocks, 5 digs, 20 assists, 3 aces; Maggie Salinas 28 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace; Kim Rohde 1 kill, 13 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace; Avery Nelius 2 digs, 1 ace
