The Schulenburg baseball team marched all the way to the regional finals this year and several of the Shorthorns were named to the 29-2A all-district team which was released last week. Senior catcher Jayse Janda was named the District MVP.

The state semifinalist Fayetteville baseball team had several players earn postseason honors on the 29-1A all-district team released this week. Jack Schley was named the District MVP.

Recruiting is really starting to heat up for former La Grange High School football standout Dwodney Thompson, who has moved to Bastrop and will be playing his senior year there. According to recruiting database Rival.com, Thompson has received offers from Sam Houston State, Prairie View A&M, Lamar, Midwestern State and the University of Ohio.

Several La Grange varsity football players competed at the Katy Freeman 7-on-7 Tournament Friday. The Leps beat Freeman but lost to Brookshire and La Marque. The sport of 7-on-7 is a fastpaced, passing only, nontackle version of football high schoolers use in the offseason to stay sharp.

For the first time since 2022, the Fayetteville Lions will not be playing in the state title baseball game. In a game where a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes plagued the Lions, Fayetteville lost Saturday 11-1 to Centerville in the state semifinals in Montgomery.
