Schulenburg Brothers Medal at the 2026 RSPA Texas Junior Gran Prix State Championships

Caden and William Herzik, who attend Schulenburg High School, both earned 3rd place finishes at the 2026 RSPA (Racquet Sports Professionals Association) Texas Junior Gran Prix State Championships held at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels September 12-13th.. Caden placed 3rd in the 18 division and William placed 3rd in the 14 division. Their team also earned the A.C.E.(Attitude, Conviviality, & Effort) Sportsmanship Award for the first time in over 20 years. This highly respected two day tournament included five teams from: San Antonio, Austin, Midland, Fort Worth, and East Texas with each team bringing two finalists in each age group (16 per team) for a total of 80 players registered in their flight. The RSPA is the new name for the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). Past players from this tournament have advanced onward to play as wildcard players at the US Open.
