LG Cross Country Excels in Sealy

The La Grange High School cross country program delivered impressive performances on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Coach Ed Cross Country Invitational in Sealy.

Running against tough regional competition, the Leopards posted notable individual results in both the Varsity Girls’ 3200-meter run and the Varsity Boys’ 5000-meter run and a 4th place team finish in the Varsity Girls division.

Leading the way for Lady Leps was junior Lillian Carey, who captured a 2nd place overall finish in the Varsity Girls division finishing in 12:49.59. Rounding out the Lady Leps top five finishers were freshmen Emmry Blashke (18th), Allie Hutchins (19th) and Annabelle Zoch (21st) and junior Melanie Cruz (30th). Freshmen Blaschke, Hutchins and Shiloh Bretz each celebrated personal best times (PRs) at the Coach Ed.

Leading the way for the Leopards was senior Dilan Barron, finishing in 28th place overall with a time of 19:22.54. Barron was followed by junior Jacob Estrada (34th), freshman Rudy Lopez (49th), junior Gabe Haverda (53th) and senior Chonlasit Sripatumwong (54th). Lopez celebrated a PR run in his debut against varsity competition.

La Grange High School Cross Country competes next at Giddings’ Camp Tejas Invitational on Friday, September 25, 2026. Revised race times are: 8:45 a.m. for Varsity Boys 5K; 9:15 a.m. for Varsity Girls 2 Mile; 9:45 a.m. for JV Boys 5k; and 10:15 a.m. for JV Girls 2 Mile.
