Against a Granger team that went 12-1 last season, the Flatonia Bulldogs put up a fight before falling to the Lions 46-32 Friday. Flatonia freshman quarterback Boston Targac threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a teamhigh 155 yards and a score but it was not enough.

The Flatonia girls volleyball team improved to 3-0 in district with a 25-6, 25-17, 2510 win over Louise Tuesday. Morgan Nelius is helping to uphold a lofty family tradition at Round Top-Carmine. She has a pair of older sisters that have state volleyball medals (Taylor Nelius was on the state silver medalist team in 2019 and Avery Nelius was on the 2024 state bronze medalist team).

La Grange High School Cross Country competed at the 38th Annual Moulton Meet on Saturday, September 12, 2026, securing 11 individual top 20 finishes, a 3rd place team finish for Varsity Girls and a 1st place team finish for JV Girls.

The La Grange volleyball team defeated Katy Harmony Friday to improve their record to 1-1 in district and 14-10 overall. Two Lady Leps achieved big milestones last week.

The Schulenburg football team is still looking for its first win of the season after falling in their home opener against Rice Consolidated 63-27 Thursday. Rice, which went 1-9 last year, improved to 3-0 this season.

The Flatonia football team lost its first game of the season Friday at Nixon-Smiley. The Bulldogs (2-1) got two touchdowns from Adrian Anderson (one receiving and one rushing) and freshman quarterback Boston Targac also ran for a touchdown but it was not enough to beat the Mustangs, who improved to 2-1 with the win.

Navarro High School is just not a good place on Friday nights – meteorologically. Eight years after La Grange had a 2018 football contest at Navarro cancelled mid-game because of bad weather, it happened again Friday.
