Flatonia Baseball Update

The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team dropped a district game to Ganado last week by a 0-4 score. This loss drops Flatonia into second place in their district race, while Ganado stays in first place.

La Grange’s Barber Leads Baseball Team to Biggest Win of the Season

La Grange senior Bennett Barber has had an illustrious career for the Leopards baseball team as a four-year starter on the middle infield, including the last three seasons as starting shortstop. But last Friday was one of his biggest games ever as he had three hits, drove in the game-tying runs in the seventh inning and then the game-winning run on a walkoff 9-8 victory over first place Caldwell.

La Grange Tennis Players Medal in Shiner Tourney

The La Grange Varsity Tennis Team traveled to Shiner for a full-day tournament on Monday, April 15 (this was a replacement tournament for the rainout on April 8). Leps Blast Manor 14-2

The La Grange baseball team blasted Manor New Tech 14-2 Tuesday to improve to 11-11 overall and 5-3 in district. Oliver Gunn and Braxton Dahse combined on the pitching effort and limited Manor to just three hits.

Schulenburg Golfers Headed to State

The Schulenburg golf team qualified for the state tournament after placing third at the regional tournament this week in Corpus Christi. The Shorthorns shot a two-day 708.

LHS Shows Off On Home Track With Standout Performances at Area Meet

La Grange hosted the 21/22-4A Area track meet Wednesday, and on their home track the Leps and Lady Leps turned in some blazing times. Senior Austen Diggs, in what was his final home meet, advanced to regionals in three events, winning the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.41, winning the 200 meter dash in 21.35 and anchoring the La Grange 4x400 relay to an area title, by passing five runners on his leg of the race.

Schulenburg, Flatonia Athletes Regional-Bound

At the 27/28-2AArea Meet in Thrall Thursday, several Schulenburg and Flatonia athletes punched their ticket to the regional meet by finishing in the top four of their events. Fayette County area champs included Schulenburg’s Meredith Magliolo in the high jump, Flatonia’s Zachary Charanza in the discus and Flatonia’s Kobe Burton in the shot put.
