Schulenburg Class of 1965 Reunion

The Schulenburg High School Class of 1965 held its 60th class reunion on Sept. 20 at Oakridge Smokehouse Restaurant in Schulenburg. The total class was 46 and 17 classmates attended along with spouses, family and friends. The 17 remaining classmates as well as the 12 departed were remembered. Cyndi Johnson Talks About Food Safety at Farm Bureau Meeting

The Flatonia/Cistern Farm Bureau hosted its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the Flatonia American Legion Hall. Guest speaker Cyndi Johnson, owner of The Market 1 (grocery store) and 2 (liquor store) captivated attendees by discussing food safety and preparation. She discussed how items end up on the shelves. Cyndi has worked tirelessly over the past seven years to bring a unique shopping experience tailored to the community. Her stores offer organic and gluten-free selections, convenient grab-and-go food trays, fresh flowers, and alcoholic beverages, etc. Vice President Jo Brunner (right) joined in presenting a token of appreciation to Cyndi Johnson (left) in recognition of her contribution to the evening.

Fayette County Farm Bureau to Host Annual Gathering

It’s time once again in Fayette County to map the future of agriculture for the coming year. Fayette County Farm Bureau (CFB) will host its county convention beginning with a social at 6 p.m. and a chop steak dinner at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

American Legion Auxiliary Receives Honors

American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) 19th District President Irene Szware joined the September ALA Local Unit 102 monthly meeting on Sept. 10. The District President joined to present the unit with several honors and certificates of achievement from the American Legion Auxiliary, State of Texas. One highlight from the many honors is a Certificate of Appreciation for the Auxiliary’s programs & services to assist and enhance the lives of Veterans and their families from the ALA Department of Veterans Affairs. The American Legion Auxiliary welcomes all veteran spouses, children, grandchildren, and parents to join as we focus on serving our local veteran community. The Auxiliary meets the second Wednesday of each month and our notices are posted in advance in the Fayette County Record.
