Carmine Christmas Fest Sunday
The Carmine Christmas Fest is this Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Food will be served from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The RT-C elementary musical begins at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be present. Kids can ride the polar express train. Tickets will be sold for a drawing of items in Santa’s Treasure Bag. The drawing will take place toward the end of the event.

Christmas Craft Market The Ledbetter Community Christmas Craft Market is from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., also on Dec. 7, at the Ledbetter Hall. It is located one block off Hwy 290 at 301 West Labadie St.
Grand Opening
Memorial Oaks Chapel is having a grand opening for its Carmine location on Dec. 3 from 4-6 p.m. at 107 Augsburg Avenue. It is located in the former Albers Butane and more recently the Basketball Museum building.
RT-C School News
JV and varsity boys’ basketball teams play at Austin Achieve on Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
Varsity boys play in their own Round Top-Carmine tournament on Dec. 5-6.
FFA meeting is on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Jr. High girls and boys and varsity girls host Richards on Dec. 9 with the first game at 4 p.m.
The band is scheduled to perform its Christmas Concert on Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at Festival Hill in Round Top. Check the www.rtcisd.net website to check if there may be changes.
The district awards have been named for the RT-C volleyball team. They are Madison Markwardt, MVP; Bree Dooley and Jessica Rohde, Co-offensive MVP’s; Lillie Salinas, Co-newcomer of the year; Caydan Nelius, Morgan Nelius, Haydon Kasmiersky, and Rebekah Sacks, First Team; Reagan Williams, Makayla kayla Ne- Smith, and Avery Nelius, Second Team; and Avery Lamson, Kaegan Wagner, Lizeth Hernandez, and Alin Soto, Honorable Mention.
Mrs. Foster recently took the juniors and seniors to the Texas A&M University System’s RELLIS Campus, where they learned about pathways to bachelor’s degrees in highneeds career fields.
Coach Weishuhn’s Livestock Production classes visited Casa de Brazil to study different cuts of meat, from wholesale to retail, and explored how texture and flavor vary across cuts and species.
Looking ahead, the last day of classes in 2025 will be on Dec. 18 and includes an early dismissal.
Ledbetter Lane of Lights
The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights continues on Dec. 5 and 6; 12 and 13; and 19 and 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. Enjoy a hayride, hot chocolate, wassail, popcorn, cookies, Santa and music.
Admission is $10 per person and children two years and younger are free. Cash or checks are accepted.

Christmas Lighting Contest
The annual Christmas lighting contest for both homes and businesses will most likely be held on Dec. 19 or 20. It is sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce.
Anyone who would like to be judged is asked to have their lights on for those nights from dusk to 9:30 p.m.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School Christmas program practice is on Thursday in the evening at 6 p.m.
Martin Luther Lutheran Church worship service with Holy Communion, observing the second Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The Sunday School Christmas program will take place during the worship service. The Rev. Phil Fenton will serve as the guest pastor.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
