“The Original Round Top Western Vintage Renegades Fashion Show” held during the Spring Round Top Antique Show at Festival Hill proved to be another successful fundraiser for Round Top Festival Institute. Beth Weishuhn, owner of Dirty Bohemian and The Crown Bar in La Grange, gathered pieces from her favorite Western vintage clothing dealers from Warrenton and Round Top for the show including clothing from Renee Rangel of Moontower Vintage, Saint Bohemian and acclaimed Double D Ranchware. Proceeds from this spring’s event will again be used to help Festival Hill improve their already amazing gardens and landscaping.

In the southern part of Fayette County and surrounding areas, Senior Connections is a vibrant hub for seniors aged 55 and over, offering a welcoming atmosphere for friendship, fun, and nourishment. Doors swing open at 9 a.m.

The Fayette County Firefighters Association hosted a training session on tender shuttle operations in La Grange on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13-14.

The Veterans Clinic in La Grange received donations on Friday, Sept. 19, from the Veterans Outreach Program that is sponsored by the VFW Auxiliary No. 5254 La Grange. Recent gifts to the program made the donations of acceptable clothing, toiletries, food items, backpacks, etc., possible.

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association met Monday, Sept. 8 at the New Life Methodist Church in La Grange, with 22 members in attendance. Members enjoyed an ice cream social with many toppings and sweet treats.

VFW Post #5254 Commander Richard Gray addressed the La Grange City Council once again on Monday about the poor condition of the City-owned VFW Hall. Gray says the building needs foundation repairs, and part of the roof is so flat that water seeps inside in spots.
