Christmas in Muldoon this Weekend
This is the weekend for Christmas in Muldoon. On Saturday, Dec. 6, Muldoon will come alive with the Christmas spirit. There are a host of things planned that everyone can pick and choose from or just participate in them all. Take a few hours off and come check out the fun and festivities. There is no charge for all the fun and the chance to get into the Christmas mood.
The Christmas fun starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Muldoon Museum. They will be serving some cookies, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider for everyone to partake in. While you sip and nibble, you can take the time to check out the displays that reflect the time gone by in Muldoon. The railroad influence, the agricultural activities and lots of the home activities that include quilts and cooking things. There also will be a fundraising bake sale to support this wonderful preservation of the past. There will be a wide selection of cake, cookies, brownies and a bunch more to purchase and start your holiday season off to a great and effortless start. All the goodies will be homemade by locals. They will be open until 6 p.m.
The next stop on the Christmas in Muldoon trail is at the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. Stop in anytime from 5-6 p.m. to have a chat and a picture with Santa Claus. SG2C will also be hosting a craft station for the littles who might want to make something special for Christmas time. This will be a fun time for the youngsters and maybe some of the fun-loving older ones too. Santa will be taking notes and enjoying all the fun.
The evening will come to a conclusion at 6:30 p.m. with the Muldoon Fire Department Christmas party. They invite everyone to come and enjoy a meal of homemade stew and invite the community to bring a side dish or a dessert to share. They are accepting freewill donation at that time.
Out and About
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky made a trip to Lake Charles for an early Thanksgiving celebration. It was also a small family reunion. Kathy’s mom, Nelda Lamb, was so very happy to have all of her family together at one time it made her tear up. They all met at Kathy’s sister, Debbie David’s, home. All of Kathy’s, daughters, son in laws, grandkids with their spouses and the great grand kids. It was a very special time for all the family, especially Kathy’s mom.

Neighborhood Watch
During this hectic time of year, take time to check on your neighbors and make sure everything is good. Not only check on their health, but also make sure everything is secure. If you see something out of place, an odd vehicle or something just not right. Give them a call and make sure that they know you noticed something odd. It may just be visiting family and then again it might not. Prevention is the best way to keep Muldoon safe. Get to know your neighbors and help each other out.
Weather
Just before Thanksgiving a norther blew in with strong winds and cooler temperatures. Earlier in the week there was a little bit of rain, but not much was recorded. Conditions remain very dry in our area.
