Firefighters put out a van that caught fire after a wreck on Interstate 10 near the Fayette-Gonzales County Line on Wednesday morning. There were at least eight wrecks in Fayette County on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, including one fatality.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on July 22 around 10 a.m. Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Kia traveling westbound on I-10 near the 663 mile marker for a traffic violation. As Smith approached the vehicle it sped off west bound and a pursuit ensued.
