Chris Joplin Continues Eliminating Hogs in Muldoon
Hog Report
Chris Joplin is hard at work shrinking the hog population in the Muldoon area. Before he left for Comfort, he eliminated 12 hogs and is up to 46 so far this month. Hopefully this will slow down the over population of these destructive creatures.
Rain
Muldoon saw some rain in spots. Light rain has fallen a couple days in a row so far, at the time of this writing. Reports of three hundredths to three tenths, all from the same shower, were reported within a couple of miles from each other while some reported no rain at all. More rain has been predicted in the upcoming days.
Out and About
Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed having Dana’s mom, Virginia Tappe, come for a few days to visit from Brenham. While she was down, Dana’s sister, April, traveled in from Wharton to see her mom and to spend a couple of days in the country. Making it in on Saturday from Wharton was Annie and Cody Zimmerhanzel and their son Luke.
Jennifer and Clay Rightmer enjoyed a visit from their daughter, Lane Rightmer. Lane is living in Waco and came home for some quiet Muldoon time.
Chris Joplin slipped away for a few days to work in Comfort. He got to enjoy watching some exotic animals on the ranch he was working on. Zebras were a little different from his regular critters at home.
Anne Marie Cherry has returned to Columbus, Georgia, after spending almost a month enjoying life in the country. She particularly enjoyed catching up with her parents, Martin and Nancy Cherry, her brother and sister-in-law, Martin Jr. and Lora Cherry; and her niece and nephew, Caroline and Mitchell Cherry. Another highlight was watching the movie “The Last Full Measure.” This was the movie in which she played the solo French horn in the movie’s sound track. Her playing can be heard throughout the movie, but particularly during the closing credits.
Birthday
Birthday wishes are extended to Clinton Wottlin this week. Clint turned 11 and is waiting to get to go out and celebrate, hopefully soon.
Neighborhood Watch
During these strange times, we all need to pull together and watch out for each other. Keeping an eye out for our neighbors’ places can help with crime prevention. If you see something odd or out of place, give that neighbor a call and let them know. Make notes of times, make and model of the vehicle and a description of the person or persons in it. By pulling together, we can keep Muldoon safe.
Also, be sure and check on your senior citizen neighbors who are at high risk to get sick. You might be able to run an errand in town for them or pick up some groceries for them. This can help minimize their risk of getting sick.
