John Edward (Johnnie) Kasper, owner of Kasper Meat Market in Weimar, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 in Schulenburg.

Mildred Bayer, beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on Aug. 14, in Houston at the age of 84. She was born to Alfred and Hulda Kainer on Nov. 18, 1936.

Ruby (Lina) Mikulin, 104, of La Grange, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021.

James “Jim” Franklin Gardner passed away Aug. 11, 2021, in Houston, with his family present. The youngest of eight children, Jim was born Sept. 30, 1929 in Joplin, Mo., to Frederic Charles and Eva May (Dawson) Gardner. He graduated from Webb City High School in Joplin, Mo., in 1947, then attended Joplin Junior College and Kansas State Teachers College (Pittsburg State University). His studies were interrupted by the Korean War, during which he served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954. During his military service, Jim received four medals, including the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars.

Funeral services for Dr. Vincent “Vince” Stewart, 68, of Giddings, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Nathan “Tornado” Norsworthy, 65 of La Grange, was born in Columbus on March 18, 1956 to Vernard and Billie Norsworthy. He passed away on Saturday, Aug.

Ruby Myrtle Lehmann Bohot, (93) of Warda, passed away Aug. 12, 2021 in Giddings. Ruby was born in Warda on March 14, 1928 to Carl and Hulda Lehmann. She married the love of her life, Alfred Bohot on June 18, 1950 and they had two sons, Charles Robert and Keith Alan Bohot and one daughter, Marsha Bohot Sheffield.

Lollie Dittmar, of Round Top, was born on April 22, 1921 in Winedale to Otto Ullrich, Sr. and Johanna Klatt Ullrich.
