Klesel
Katie Rose Janecka was born on Dec. 8, 1980 to Margie and Ed Janecka. She had one older brother (Joe) at that time. Then followed by two more brothers and one sister (Charlie, John, and Elizabeth). Katie graduated from St. Michael Catholic School in 1995, then Weimar High School in 1999. She was, among other things, involved in FFA, Theater, and Volleyball. She then attended Blinn College in Brenham.
On June 7, 2003, she married David Klesel (son of Theresa and Melvin Klesel of Schulenburg). They later welcomed their daughter Anastasia Rose Klesel into the world on Sept. 14, 2005. Their son Zackary James Klesel was welcomed into the world on Jan. 28, 2010. And, lastly, William Charles Klesel joined their family on May 5, 2016. Katie was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Katie passed away instantaneously from an aneurysm on Sept. 9, 2021.
Katie was a true 80’s and 90’s girl, even two decades after the 90’s. She had an immense love for music and dancing. She especially loved New Kids on the Block (NKOTB). She and her sister went to several NKOTB concerts as adults, where she wore a custom Jordan Knight shirt and earrings.
Katie was always smiling and glittering. She did this in order to brighten up every room she entered. She also loved to dress in bright colors and jewelry (which included bedazzled pants) to add even more shine. She also placed bright and glittering stickers on the back of her cars. We all know that she had images of leaving rainbows behind her as she so enjoyed Rainbow Brite growing up.
Katie really shined at work, especially during her tenure at Bluebonnet Trails assisting in the Female Adult Home with MHMR clients. More recently, she greeted everyone with a smile as she worked as an executive assistant for her mother’s financial firm. All the clients loved having her smile at them and they said so. Katie’s frequent response to this was: “It’s easy to smile when you work for your mother.” While there, she received multiple certifications from Ashwood College in accounting, payroll, Quick-Books, and office management.
Katie loved her family and friends immensely, and she always tried to befriend and help the underdog. No matter where she was, Katie had the best eye roll of anyone. She also had the kind of sigh that you could hear around the corner. Katie was, in a word, sassy. She even named one of her many beloved cats “Sassy.”
Katie always loved babies and children. She was so very excited every time she was pregnant, and God blessed her with three beautiful babies. Katie was a very close friend to Ana, while still being the mother she should be. Katie always understood and respected Zackary’s emotional depth and taught him the strength to understand those fathoms. William is still very young, but Katie was his source of refuge and comfort, and he knew that. Katie raised her children to respect others and also to love God. Katie’s children were her entire world, and now she is their special guardian angel in heaven.
Katie was one person and her life was cut short, but she still managed to increase the amount of love in this world as if she were a dozen people who had lived long lives.
In lieu of remembrances, the family asks any donations you would like to make be made to St. Michael’s Catholic School in Weimar, or a GoFundMe fundraiser to help with Katie’s children’s’ education fund. This fundraiser can be reached by going to the site: gofundme.com/klesel-janecka-children.
