Mario Alonso Romero, 59, of Plum passed away Sept. 15, 2021 in Austin surrounded by his loving family.

Alonso was born Jan. 7, 1962 in Oballos, Mexico to Antonio Romero and Olvia (Aquirre) Romero in Oballos, Mexico.

Alonso loved being around his family, making new friends, being outdoors and barbecuing with all of them.

Alonso was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Romero; and two sons, Juan and David Romero.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jesus and Jasmine Romero of La Grange; daughter-in-law, Valerie Romero; brothers and sisters-in-law, Americo and Rosa Romero of La Grange, Efrain Aguirre and Juany Romero of Minas De Barterno, Mexico, Baldomero Aguirre Romero of Oballos, Mexico; grandchildren, Janay Romero of La Grange, Veronica Romero of McAllan; nieces and nephews, Diana Romero, Erick Romero, Americo Romero, Angel Romero, Cintchia Romero, Jubenal Romero, Olivia Romero, Jose Romero, Veronica Romero, Monica Romero and Lupita Romero.

Rodney Johnson, Aldair Riojas, Luis Herrera, Juan Garcia, Américo Romero, Heriberto (Eric) Romero, Marcelo Romero, and Jordan Rodriguez were pallbearers.
