Funeral services for Roy Medack, 76 of Giddings, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, with Rev. Robert Tiner and Vicar Josh Hahn officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Roy Albert Medack was born on Nov. 8, 1944 in Giddings, the second of two children born to Albert John August Medack and Louise Gesine Anna (Namken) Medack. On June 11, 1966, Roy was united in marriage to Ruth Agnes Lehmann at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Winchester.

Roy passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021.

Roy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Medack of Giddings; two daughters, Sheila Fox of Austin and Susie Stewart and her husband, Peter of Midland; four grandchildren, Shaunn Quayle and her husband, Steve of Austin and Jack, Hannah and Nicklaus Stewart of Midland; one great granddaughter, Amelia Stewart-Bolieu of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Gladys Umscheid of Austin; one sister-in-law, Elaine Key of League City; one brother-in-law, Maclyn Lehmann of Winchester; three aunts, Gladys Namken of Giddings, Janet Namken of Giddings, and Frances Medack of Giddings, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funerals arrangements have been entrusted to Philips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
