Angeline “Angie” (Tupa) Winkler, 91, of La Grange, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021.

Angie was born in Moravia on Oct. 2, 1929, the daughter of Joe and Jamie (Orsak) Tupa. She married Robert Adolph Winkler on Sept. 5, 1949 in Moravia.

Angie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, KJZT, Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court No. 1962. She was also a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

She and her husband, Bob, loved bowling and were members of several bowling teams. They both loved to dance and were members of the Swiss Alp dance club. Bob and Angie also enjoyed attending the Army Company C reunions.

Angie loved to bake and her specialties included kolaches, and poppy seed rolls. She enjoyed canning pickles and making homemade jelly for all the family to enjoy. She was also an excellent seamstress.

She was a devoted mother and held a special place in her heart for her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter, Kathy Winkler of Houston; daughter, Sandy Winkler Machemehl of Sugar Land; son, Chris Winkler and wife, Frances, of San Antonio; and four grandchildren: John Paul Machemehl and wife, Lara; Amy Machemehl; J. Colin Winkler; Cyril Hayden Winkler; and one great grandson, Hunter Machemehl.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Winkler; sister, Judith Ohnheiser and husband, Raymond; brother, Jerry Tupa and first wife, Karlene; and Henry Tupa; nephew, Bennie Ohnheiser; nephew, Ray Tupa; and niece, Pam Tupa.

Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 539 E. Pearl St., La Grange at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in High Hill.
