David Wayne Dodd, longtime resident of Carmine, died suddenly on Sept. 6, 2021.

David is survived by his children, Noah and Ember Dodd; grandmother, Bobbie Ray Dodd; sister, Bridget Young; father, Lenard Dodd; and numberous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, La Keitha Behrans; grandfather, Noah David Dodd; grandmother, Winafred Wright; grandfather, Wayne Wright; aunts, Freddie, Elizabeth and Kay, as well as his cousin, Brian Dodd.

David was born on March 7, 1984 in Giddings to Lenard and La Keitha Dodd.

David was a very loving and devoted father to his two young children, Noah and Ember Dodd. He had numerous friends and family whom he loved very much. “He never met a stranger,” one would say about David. David’s favorite hobby as a child as well as throught his adult life, was collecting rocks. He once was asked “why do you love rocks that so much?” He replied, “Because you can look all your life, and never find two rocks that look exactly the same.” It was a hobby he enjoyed dearly.

A memorial Celebration of Life for David will be held on Oct. 2, 2021 at PawPaw’s Firehouse located at 2290 South Hwy. 237 at Hills Road in Carmine at 3 p.m. It is open to all whom wish to say their final farewell to David.
