Moreau Wins Pct. 2 JP Spot

Jamie Moreau won the threeway race for Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace with more than 50 percent of the vote, thus avoiding a runoff election. The unofficial vote tally was Jamie Moreau with 804 votes (51.11 percent), Brad Neville with 252 votes (16.02 percent) and Victor Weishuhn with 517 votes (32.87 percent).

LG Calendar Set for Next School Year

Highlights from Monday’s monthly meeting of the La Grange Indepdendent School District Board of Trustees: 2022-23 Calendar Approved The 2022-23 La Grange ISD calendar was approved at Monday night’s board meeting. It will be very similar to the 2021-22 calendar.

2022 Primary Election Night Results

The Fayette County Elections Office finished counting ballots well after midnight on March 2.

Republican County Judge race will head to a runoff between Dan Mueller and Craig Moreau. Neither of them secured 50 percent of the vote.

LES Hosts Scholastic Book Fair

Students Make A&M-Kingsville Honor Roll

Texas A&M University-Kingsville has released the names of the students who made the President’s List, Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the fall 2021 semester. Making the Honor Roll was Luke Anthony Freytag of Flatonia and Dayton Edward Mejias of Moulton.

NVCC Plans Local Trips

Spring is just around the corner and NVCC is looking forward to warmer days. Members have asked to check out Flatonia. NVCC is eager to head west and explore during the month of March. The Lyric Movie Theater is on the list, as well as some of the local restaurants. The plan is to catch a matinee movie with a lunch meal either before or after the show.

Winchester Area Civic Association Announces Domino Tournament Winners

Those attending the WACA Fried Chicken and Annual Domino Tournament had a great time this last weekend. Winners of the Straight Domino Tournament were Don Patton and Keith Evans; second place were Arthur Bosque and John Eilert; and third place went to Joe Scott and DJ Scott. The winners of the 42 Tournament were Greg Roeber and Mike Simpson; second place Rebecca Deen and Calvin Harbaugh and third place Patsy Zbranek and Cathy Walla.
