One person suffered injuries in a crash involving a vehicle and a train in Winchester on Sunday, June 28. According to a report from Union Pacific Railroad, (UP) the crash happened around 8:30 p.m.

La Grange City Council pondered some big renovations to City facilities at a special workshop meeting Monday night. The Council met with Chris Casey of the design firm Parkill, who presented various options for improvements at the La Grange Police Station, City Hall and the Randolph Recreation Center.

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday with staff onsite for animal care from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Reclaims are allowed on Monday after 10 a.m. by appointment. Charlie and Seri Davis of La Grange captained a houseboat on the Canal du Midi in southern France for seven days. They went through locks and under bridges, sleeping on the boat at night. There are many small villages along the canal to shop and eat at. No experience necessary, so anyone can do it.

KJZT Annunciation No. 41 of Ellinger recently donated $700 to the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange.

E Chris, Laura and Brylee Brugger recently visited Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Parks. Upon Brylee’s recent 4-H certification as a Junior Master Photographer, a 4-H group of kids from all over Texas attended this trip.
