County Pounded by Rain, Possible Tornado & Lightning

Fayette County got some much needed rain Sunday, but it came at a cost. High winds that may have been part of a tornado blew down several trees, and at least one carport in the Schulenburg area. Meanwhile lightning strikes were reported in several parts of the county, and one of those strikes sparked a house fire at the 500 block of Baumgarten Street. Schulenburg volunteer firefighters limited the fire to a corner of the garage. The LCRA rain gauge in Moulton recorded an amazing 7.78 inches of rain Sunday and 1.24 inches at the power plant outside La Grange.
