Fayette County Fair Seeking Queen, Jr. Miss Contestants

Attention young ladies entering grades 6-12 in a Fayette County public, private or home school and/or reside in Fayette County for the 202627 school year: the Fayette County Fair Association is seeking ambitious, outgoing individuals who would like to vie for 2026/27 Fayette County Fair Queen and Jr Miss to compete for substantial Academic Scholarships, prizes and share memories of a lifetime.

LCRA Employees Do Local Community Service Projects

More than 750 Lower Colorado River Authority employees spread out across Texas to tackle more than 45 community improvement projects during LCRA’s annual Steps Forward Day. Now in its 11th year, the volunteer initiative brought teams to parks, trails and public spaces throughout the LCRA service area, painting fences, planting gardens, clearing brush and refreshing playgrounds. The day of service builds on LCRA’s long tradition of hands-on community engagement. Community projects completed on April 10 in our area included:

New Bielau Dance Hall Reunion in the Works

For folks of a certain vintage who grew up around here, lots of weekends were spent at the old New Bielau Dance Hall south of Weimar.. The Hall burned to the ground in 1999, but the memories live on.
