The Round Top-Carmine baseball team saw its season come to an end in the third round with a pair of loses to Medina Thursday and Saturday. The Cubs lost a heartbreaker Thursday in Game 1 of their regional semifinal series 4-3. The Cubs were down 3-2 going into the sixth innings but managed to tie the game up before Medina got a walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh.

The Schulenburg baseball team won a thrilling regional semifinal series over Thorndale last week. The Shorthorns (28-6) won the opener Wednesday 8-0, lost Game 2 Friday 8-5 before winning the decisive Game 3 by a 11-4 score Saturday.

The Fayetteville baseball team is headed to the regional finals after destroying Knippa Thursday in a third round doubleheader 10-1 and 15-0. In the 10–1 win Kandon Kaspar and Dylan Henneke combined on the pitching effort and Henneke had three hits.

Winning a bronze medal at the 2026 4A UIL State Track meet at the University of Texas at Austin last Thursday, La Grange junior Macie Collier made school history as one of the few individual LHS female athletes to stand on the podium.

Fayetteville junior Cambree Denham placed third at the state track meet Saturday in the 1A high jump, clearing 5-feet 2-inches. Davis Etheridge of Roscoe Highland won the event, clearing 5-5.

The Round Top-Carmine baseball team went four rounds deep in the playoffs last year and is heading into a third round match-up this week. A big reason for that success has been the play of the team’s three seniors – left fielder Cody Wunderlich, catcher Kash Wessels and first baseman/pitcher Carter Marburger.
