LG Optimist Club Track Team Shines at State
La Grange Optimist Club athletes competed at the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Summer Games State Track and Field Meet this past weekend in College Station after advancing through local and regional competition.
To qualify for the state meet, athletes competed in multiple local track meets in June before advancing to the regional meet in July. The top finishers from each of Texas’
17 regions earned a berth at the state championships.
Throughout the summer, the athletes dedicated themselves to weekly practices and competitions despite the Texas heat. La Grange Optimist Club coaches praised the team’s hard work, commitment and accomplishments throughout the season.
