The La Grange Leopards, and most football teams across Texas, began football practice Monday. The Leps have been practicing beginning at 6 a.m. every day to avoid the heat, and stay in compliance with new, stricter, state regulations about practicing in the Texas heat.

“Everybody was ready to go,” said La Grange head coach Kyle Cooper, who heads into this fourth year leading the Leps. “The kids were excited, the coaches were excited.”

The Leps (who return nine starters on offense and nine on defense) are trying to improve upon last year’s 5-6 season, and trying to win a playoff game for the first time since 2021.
